All the flavour, without the caffeine! Our carefully selected decaf from Cauca is really quite special; sweet, soft and has a pleasant citrus fruit acidity that balances the medium roast profile extremely well.

Our decaffeinated coffee originates from the southwestern department of Cauca. The higher altitude farms result in more complex acidity with heightened floral notes in the profiles

Our Colombian E.A. (ethyl acetate) decaf speciality coffee is special for several reasons. Firstly, the beans are cupped specifically for their superior quality and are single-origin. Aptly named Decaf De Caña due to being custom decaffeinated at source in Colombia, using a special, natural process that utilises ethyl acetate, a natural solvent derived from fermented sugar.

This natural process works by soaking the green coffee in a solution of E.A., which bonds to the salts of chlorogenic acid in the coffee and allows for the removal of caffeine. The coffee beans are removed from the E.A. solvent and then steamed at low pressure to remove any residual E.A. compounds, allowing the coffee beans to retain their flavour and integrity.
